1. What is Eva and what is she used for?

Eva is a compact stair chair; an innovative system for the transport of patients in the sitting position:

  • downstairs (with slides);
  • up stairs;
  • on the flat.

2. How does Eva fix to the ambulance?

Eva can be safely fixed to the ambulance with E-Max, the safest, fastest, quietest and most stable fixing system on the market today.

3. Can Eva be adapted to any type of ambulance?

Yes the centralised automatic closing system permits rapid storage in a very small space on any emergency vehicle.

4. Is Eva easy to transport?

The side carry handle with a handy shoulder strap turns Eva into the perfect backpack.

5. Can Eva be used on any type of staircase?

Yes. Eva ha slides with adaptable geometry meaning that the slides can be adjusted to the inclination of the stair case and the weight of the patient. In addition this system allows maximum stability even for the biggest of patients.

6. How many people are needed to manoeuvre Eva?

To descend just one operator is sufficient but if possible we always advise that an additional operator should be close by to assist the patient directly. To move upstairs two operators are required.

7. Does Eva have the Spencer Back Support system?

Yes of course, Eva is part of the products in the Spencer Back Support range that have been developed especially to assist the comfort and complete safety of the operator.

8. Can Eva also be used on the flat?

Yes, her large diameter rear wheels, the front self positioning front wheels and the rear handles that can be locked in the open position, make the performance of Eva unbeatable even on rough and uneven ground surfaces.

9. Can Eva be used in conditions of poor visibility?

Thanks to the areas equipped with a highly reflective micro prism material with incredibly good photometric properties, Eva is suitable for use in any scenario.

10. Why are the rear handles larger?

The rear handles have been designed like this to assist transport and to allow the operator a better grip with the minimum energy expenditure.

11. How does the Eva breaking system work?

Eva has an intuitive breaking system. The centralised rear brake can be actioned using just one hand so it is easy to block both rear wheels at the same time.

12. Has Eva got a headrest?

Yes, the headrest on Eva is integrated in the rear handles and can be adapted to the patient so they feel more stable and physiologically more reassured. IF required the patient’s head can be blocked to improve the immobilisation.

13. Does Eva have a head immobiliser?

Yes, the head straps can block the patient’s forehead and chin so as to avoid any injury during the critical stages of rescue. The special ergonomic insert in TPU improves the adherence and therefore improve safety.

14. Is the Eva chair comfortable?

The ergonomical seat Stabilizer has recieved special attention with the aid of virtual simulation techniques. The results have helped us to optimise the comfort especially for those parts of the body that come under particular stress during transport.

15. What fabric is Stabilizer seat made of?

The Stabilizer seat is manufactured in SPEN-TEX®, a fabric patented by Spencer which helps to improve adherence, stability and safety. SPEN-TEX® is welded using an ultrasound process, has a graduated padding and is extremely easy to clean and sanitise.

16. Do all the belts have a retractor?

Both the chest belt and the leg belts have the retractor which permits the correct patient immobilisation in just a few steps. In addition this tidy system facilitates storage as the belts once undone, automatically retract and there is no danger of them causing any kind of impediments, getting dirty or tangled up.

17. What is the weight limit for transport of patients with Eva?

The maximum loading weight of Eva is 250 kg, but if requested we can make it suitable for even higher loads.

18. What type of maintenance does Eva need?

Ordinary maintenance procedures are clearly indicated on the manual supplied with the chair. If these instructions are carefully followed, it will help increase the life span of the product.

19. Is there a special fixing system?

E-Max is the compact fixing system which permits the fixing of Eva to the walls or the floor of the ambulance.

20. Is there a version with armrests?

To increase the patient’s comfort and safety there is a version of Eva with armrests with grips in PU.

21. Can Eva be supplied with a rigid base?

There is an economical version with a rigid seat which is ergonomically moulded in polycarbonate.

22. Are the instructions for use handy to find?

Yes they are easy for the operator to find as they are inserted in the back of the headrest.
